Washing
Wash Less, Wear More
Raw and selvedge denim develops its character through wear — the fades, creases, and honeycombs are unique to you. Washing too frequently strips this patina before it forms.
- Wash only when necessary — every 3–6 months for raw denim
- Turn inside out before washing to protect the outer surface
- Cold machine wash (30°C max) or hand wash
- Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent — avoid bleach or fabric softener
- For spot cleaning, use a damp cloth and mild soap
Drying
Always Air Dry
Heat is denim's enemy. Tumble drying causes shrinkage, weakens fibres, and accelerates fading in the wrong places.
- Hang to dry naturally — never tumble dry
- Dry away from direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading
- Hang by the waistband to maintain shape
- Reshape while damp if needed
Storage & General Care
Store It Well
How you store your denim between wears matters just as much as how you wash it.
- Fold or hang — either works, but avoid cramped storage that creases the fabric permanently
- Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when stored
- For raw denim, freezing is a myth — it does not kill bacteria effectively. Spot clean instead.
